waddya know?
im back from
PREFECT SELECTION CAMP
true enough
i bear the scars of a true
torture camp
(jac can attest to that)
but well
i must say
it was an enriching experience
never again will i complain about
scout camps
never again
well
it was a whole lot of pumping
and pumping is fine with me
but it didnt come alone
it came in a package
running
ranger jumps
cheering
and the whole combo
really knocked me flat
gosh
now i know they really werent joking
when they said
it would be rough
well
first day wasnt THAT bad really
only at night though
really demoralised
really gave my heart
for grp7 that day
did everything i could
and still...nothing
my best wasnt enough
and even after that
short but uplifting
worship
i was still feeling so down...
went to the room
and john was talking to us
and i was just stoning there
feeling so discouraged
so empty
so worthless really
(thanks josh
a few words here and there
really helped)
what was worse
fell asleep
but got up 2 hrs later
cos i was frozen solid
forced myself out of bed
to get outside
which wasnt much warmer
thought about alot of things then
just sitting outside the classroom
debating with myself
whether i should just pack it in
or not
yes
i was THAT discouraged
the whole day
i tried to follow instructions
tried to "show initiative"
tried to have a 'sense of urgency'
and all the rest of that crap
well
it wasnt too good really
i really thought about it at night
and i decided
that i would just pack it up
after PT
if i felt the same way
about myself
then, on the 2nd day
a real miracle happened
first
it was the entire thing about PT and everything
was quite ok
morning cheering wasnt too bad
the sec4's werent as sadistic as we thought
and i scored a goal ;)
after that
afternoon cheering was pretty cool
when the acjc councillors took over
a bit of punishment
but alot of improvement for sure
then
worship
another rock on experience
was really so enriching
just shouted out
renewed my vows
and worshipped!
it was really good
and guess what?
i felt great
day 3 was
by far the worst day
with 4.5 hrs of cheering
and the cheering was the most intensive as well
but after a whole lot of pumping
and punishments
and running
shadrach took over
boy
now THAT was some cheering
he really knows how to get to us
unlike some of the council
(glares!)
really
maybe all the other years
cheered under pressure best
but i think for us?
its really just a matter of spirit
Shadrach kinda inspired me really
my voice was like 70% gone already
but i just cheered my heart out
again
and again
and again
and by the last cheer?
we werent even cheering
we were just exploding!
u could FEEL the spirit just reverb round
the whole disinspired, demoralised group
like a whole new energy came over us
we just whacked
and i think thats
the way to cheer
thats the way
to inspire
thats ACS!
haha
well
im back now
i cant speak
whenever i force something out
i just squeak
but well
CAMP IS OVER!
oh yes..ive learnt all the ac cheers by HEART
haha, ok, almost all!
reduced to whispers
